Howie Richey Presents
the Fifth Annual

Camp-Out and Harvest
October 26 – 28, 2007
Arboreal Ardor
Few can resist the scrumptious crunch of a fresh pecan (Carya illinoensis), and this festival transports us to the source. The two-day, one-night camp-out highlights the history, beauty, and culinary delights of the Texas state tree and its biological cousins, walnuts and hickories. We’ll sing and taste the pleasures of these versatile trees as we frolic beneath their bountiful branches.
Easy as Pie!
Other activities for this enjoyable weekend include guided hikes, river swimming and tubing, and wildlife observation. We’ll share two pot-luck feasts—Saturday supper and Sunday breakfast—and trade pecan entrée and dessert recipes.
Satisfy your foraging instinct by collecting as many nuts as you can carry. BYO Bucket!
